On the basis of § 8 subsection 1 of the Regulation No. 90 of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure of 14.11.2022 “Procedure for Trading in Biofuel, Biomethane and Electricity Statistics and Greenhouse Gas Emission Statistics”, the system operator publishes, on a quarterly basis and in accordance with the methodology developed by the system operator, the weighted average sales price of biomethane, renewable electricity and renewable energy transport sector quota certificates. Separately, the weighted average sales prices of transport sector quota certificates transferred through bilateral trading and by auction are published.
Transport sector quota certificates of liquid biofuel, biomethane or electricity are domestic electronic certificates that prove the release for consumption of liquid biofuel, biomethane or renewable electricity in the transport sector.
Renewable energy transport statistics is a general term for biofuel or renewable electricity transport statistics that have been reported by the liquid fuel supplier in the Fuel Handling Database (KKS) of the Tax and Customs Board System (VDS), and then the remaining part of the quota certificates has been put up for sale on the Elering trading platform, i.e. on the secondary market. The quantities may therefore reflect amounts for biofuels, biomethane and renewable electricity.
Greenhouse gas emission quota certificates (GHG quota certificates) are domestic electronic certificates that prove the reduction, in tonnes, of the equivalent carbon dioxide mass related to the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the fuel or supplied energy. From 2026, it is no longer possible to trade GHG quota certificates.
Weighted average sales prices of biomethane, renewable electricity, renewable energy and GHG transport sector quota certificates transferred through bilateral trading and auction in the first and second quarter of 2025:

In 2025, renewable energy quota certificates in Q1, renewable electricity quota certificates in Q2, renewable energy quota certificates in Q3, and renewable energy and biomethane quota certificates in Q4 were not transferred by auction. There were not enough successful auctions for biomethane quota certificates in Q1 and Q2, and renewable electricity and biomethane quota certificates in Q3 to publish the data (due to the calculation methodology, data by type of quota certificates are not published in the overviews of quarterly average sales prices if the sample contains data from only one transaction).
