Elextra
Elextra is the domain of renewable energy services of Elering, Estonia’s electricity and gas system operator and transmission grid company, the aim of which is to fulfil national tasks that are not part of the core business of the grid operator but are linked to the promotion and support of renewable energy production, trading, and consumption.
We mediate subsidies to producers, certify the origin of the energy and fuels produced and consumed, manage the trading environment for the decarbonisation of the transport sector, and bring together statistics related to renewable energy. Our digital solutions support the development of distributed generation and enable both domestic and cross-border renewable energy trading.
The goal of Elextra is to harness the opportunities of digital technology to raise Estonia’s energy infrastructure to a new level of climate neutrality and bring renewable energy closer to people and businesses.
Future energy solutions based on distributed generation are complex hybrid solutions that bring together energy production, consumption, storage, conversion and the charging of electric vehicles. Increasingly, the energy does not reach the grid, but is consumed or converted directly at the customer’s installation. At the same time, the state as a whole needs an overview of the origin and value chains of energy.
