To prove the origin of gas delivered to and consumed by a consumer at a measurement point, a biomethane guarantee of origin is used. For this purpose, a user in the trader role performs the cancellation of the biomethane guarantee of origin in the electronic database of guarantees of origin.

A biomethane guarantee of origin can only be canceled to prove the origin of gas consumed in Estonia at a measurement point. When canceling a guarantee of origin, the trader must indicate the consumer for whom the origin of the gas consumed at the measurement point is being verified.

The origin of the consumed gas can be proven with biomethane guarantees of origin against actual gas consumption at the measurement point. It is only possible to prove the origin of gas consumed in the previous calendar month.

To prove the consumption of liquefied biomethane delivered to and consumed by a consumer at a measurement point, a biomethane guarantee of origin is also used.
